how do i get into registry key

  VoG II 16:39 13 Nov 04

Atart, Run, type in

regedit

and click OK.

Before you do anything else File/Export and save a copy somewhere like the desktop. In the very unlikely event that something goes wrong, you can double click that file to restore the registry.

In the left hand pane click the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand it. Keep doing similarly to get into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaResources\mci

I meant "Start," not "Atart,"

VoG forgive my ignorance but i have done what you have said ie. local m/c + current contol set + control + media resources + . This is where i am lost as i cannont see \mci. Your obsevations would be appreciated
