Do i need to uninstall version 9 before i install version 10.

  Simon_P 20:36 05 Sep 04

When you download v10 it will update v9 automatically.

Make a restore point though just incase of any problems

Hi CHAIRLEG I would imagine that would depend on how you go about the install of version 10,
say if you updated through "Windows Media player"
Then i wouldnt imagine you would have to uninstall your present version 9,
But if your installing manually then yes i would uninstall version 9 first,
I might be wrong but that's the way i would go about it.
Best of luck and regard's Mammak.

For almost a month now, I've been grappling with my XP Home Edition PC's slow booting times ,unending random freezes and crashes and dispite trawling a number of websites the problems don't seem to be abating. Now, I cannot open Help and Support,Search,Misconfig tools.Neither am I able to access the Windows Update site for downloads despite there being an icon on the task bar informing that updates are ready for downloading! When I try to click for downloads, the damn thing doesn't move from 0%.As this is not enough, Windows Media Player Series 9 cannot open at all, complaining that "an internal fault has occurred" hence cannot open the player! Can anyone please HELP.
