My Windows media Player 11 will not play .wmv files. It gives the message "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct."
Any help would be appreciated

You go to : Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Sound and then something should pop up saying certain enhancements are interfering with something Terminate the program? Click yes and your problem should be solved'

Have tried this, but didn't get anywhere. I am using Vista Home Premium. Can do the "Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Sound" but don't get anything like you say with a popup.
Why should the sound settings affect video playback?
