Another problem .......!

Have recently downloaded newer drivers for my sound card but only yesterday realised that Media Player was not functioning - it would'nt play CD's (not even load them but the titles did appear in the playlist and I could hear the CD drive stopping and starting). Similarly, whilst it plays videos as usual there is no sound. I also noticed that on the "Help" menu, the choice to update is shaded out. Have un and re-installed it twice but no difference and I can't find an answer on the website.

However, all my other media software remains fully functional with both audio and video. Any ideas please.

a reinstall perhaps is in order...uninstall media player 11 then reinstall..if that will not work go back to a previous version on media player kind regards akanic

Thanks guys - I will roll-back the driver.

Bit annoying though that the only software adversely affected by a new driver just happens to be a Microsoft one!!
