Windows Media Player 10

I used to have windows media 9 and have just updated to 10. I used to have a system which sounded superb and would rival any quality music centre. Since the d/load its sounds absoloutly dreadfull. It can't handle any bass sounds tinny infact its a music fanatics nightmare. What has happened to it. I have tried resetting my sound card settings to no avail. The strange thing is real player still sounds great, thankfully. So please enlighten me how I can get my media player to again sound good so I can give the neighbours grief again. Many thanks Ade

P.S I am using windows XP home

I have gone back to media player 9 and the sound is nearly back to normal but the bass sounds distorted.Oh well it looks like I will just annoy the neighbours using real player instead. Thanks Ade
