Windows Media Error C00D1198

  strey 20:54 15 Dec 08

I' m trying to play an mp3 music file with a view to buying it but when I try to play the sample on the Amazon server I get the following message "unable to connect to server error code C00D1198". I'm using Wndows XP and windows media player version 11. I've checked the network settings in the media player and the proxy server settings are autodetect for HTTP and RTSP.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for the info MCE2K5. The only conclusion I can draw from the error diagnostics is that Windows media player cannot access the AMAZON server. However, I know someone who has Windows Vista on their machine and they are able to play the mp3 file on the site.

Does that mean that they are not using Windows media player to play the music? Does anyone know why this particular site is apparently inaccessible for my version of media player?
