Windows Media Center.

I keep seeing references to Windows Media Center and wonder what it is all about. When I bought my new Toshiba M60 17inch screen lappy I saw some other models with the facility but having owned 3 Tosh lappies and many other PCs over the years I have never found a use for a Media Center as I only really use PC's for buisness but now have been converting a great deal of my music to MP3's and burning to either DVD's or CD's. I have a Freecom DVB stick which is fantastic with it's titchy antenna and wonder if I can upgrade XP with SP2 to Media Center or is it part of the PC.
Can anyone tell me more about Media Center.
Russell.

Thanks for the info SG, I will have to stay with my little DVB stick and keep the Tosh. I don't really need the Media Center, just curious.

Thanks for the help.

Russell.
