Windows Media 11

  ukhomerj2003 08:00 24 Feb 07

I have Windows Media 11 on both my laptop and desktop pc. On my desktop, all files such as AVI, MPEG etc play correctly.
On my laptop however i often get codec errors? If i can play one file out of five i am lucky.

Any suggestions please???

Check to ensure that you have the latest audio drivers and codecs installed... What is the sound chip in your laptop? You can find out by opening device manager, go to sound and audio devices.. this should identify your sound chip.

The XP Codec pack has been installed.

It now loads the AVI file shows an image, but does not play!!

Try the K-Lite Standard Codecs Pack from:

This provides virtually every codec you will normally require.
