Windows ME Problems with CD ROM

  Dobba 18:24 28 May 03

I have just bought a second hand computer which is running Windows ME (I have the disk!).
Whilst I can load programmes such as Norton Utilities using the CD Drawer, when I try to play Music it tells me "Windows cannot access the specified file. You may not have appropriate permissions to access the item"

I also notice that when I try to load drivers for my printer, I get a message telling me the CD may be corrupt and this occurs even when I try to download drivers direct from the Epson web site.

Am I correct in thinking that Windows ME might have utilities for blocking various things such as playing sound or loading drivers and if so, how do I go about getting round this

If you have the WinME disc do you have the CDkey. If so then load WinME over It's self
