Windows ME edition, contents of a folder displayed

After booting up windows Me edition my colleagues computer always finishes with the contents of a folder displayed. As I do not have the cptr here I cannot give any more info, and am reluctant to mess about with her there. Is there a reason for this and how to stop it, please.

Would "restore previous folders at log on" be the culprit?

There are a few reasons for this, and the simplest is that the folder was open before the computer was shut down.

This is a "feature" of Windows (95 upwards) so that you can kind of carry on where you left off.

The answer to this problem is to simply close the window before shutting down.

If this doesn't solve the problem, there is a bit more of a technical answer, but I won't go too far yet just in case I confuse.

Almost certainly.
