After using my laptop with Windows Mail for 15 months, 'Windows Security Centre' has suddenly started to prompt me to log in my e-mail address and password every time I try to download or send new mail. Can't find an obvious way to stop it. Any advice as to how I can?
The last post seems a tad extreme! Given that it doesn't happen every time I'll put up with it for now. What I can't get my head round is why is should start to occur some 14 months into the use of the kit.
One thing you can try - it sounds unlikely but it actually can work. Go to Tools/Accounts/Highlight Account and Properties/uncheck box to "Remember Password"/Apply and OK. Then repeat and tick box again. Worth a try, and less hassle than setting up the account again, although having said that as long as you have a note of all your settings it should only take a few minutes to do.
I've assumed Windows Mail or Outlook Express in the above, but similar in whatever you use.
