Windows looking for a disc

  560 26 Sep 11

During startup a window opens on the desktop instructing me to insert a CD/ROM or other removeable disc that is not available from the "Solution Centre". It take several clicks on 'Cancel' to clear this window. Anybody know how to get rid of this anoying message.

Can you give us the exact wording of the message? It will help to find the answer to your problem.

Hi AMS4127 Thanks for you're response. Sorry for the slow answer. The message seems to have disapeared!! but for information it was as follows.

solution centre. the feature you are trying to use is on a cd/rom or other removeable disk that is not available

560, yours is a known problem with the Solution Center which is installed when you run the setup CD for your HP printer or HP printer/scanner. IIRC, the message occurs after you apply an update to Adobe Flash on your PC.

It's likely you'll get that message again, so if you do, you've got two options:

1) When prompted, insert the HP setup CD that came with your printer. That'll work until you get the next flash update.

2) Got to HP Support online and download the Solution Center update that fixes this problem.

If you need more help with the latter suggestion then post back your HP printer model number.

If you no longer use an HP printer then uninstall the Solution Center and any other relevant HP programs from your PC.

If you've never had an HP printer then I'm sorry to have wasted your time ;)
