when I connect the audio/video link to my friends in Australia,the picture is good but sound is non-existent to terrible-is there any way of improving this,I would be grateful for all suggestions.

Check your speaker setting in the messenger options...

If you're using speakers, try a headset instead.

I've enjoyed a weekly chat with family members in Canada for more than two years now. At first we had serious audio quality problems (especially echoes) but it's all been 100% since we started using headsets.

I checked the speaker settings on desktop PC and sound quality is still terrible.
I use headphones with my laptop but sound is still very bad. However thanks guys for your suggestios.
