Windows Key + M failure

  Stonechatz 12:12 28 Feb 09

All other Windows Logo shortcut commands function OK i.e. Window Logo Key + U = access utilities; Windows Logo Key + L = locks computer.
BUT - if I attempt to use Windows Logo Key + M = minimise all windows to taskbar - nothing happens! Is there a way of toggling just this one feature, that I might have inadvertently set to OFF?
The M key works normally in every other way, Win XP Home SP3, IBM Kbd Layout (British settings).

does windows key +D work?

  Stonechatz 13:13 28 Feb 09

Its an odd phenomenon - WKey + M selects documents and programs that begin with M - and WKey D is similar - it finds programs on the desktop that start with D ... ! WKey + D also, as it happens, fails to work :)

What programs are you running when you use it - some programs can modify combination key functions.

Are you by any chance running a program called WinKey - which allows modification of these shortcuts

No - no Winkey... ;) Fails on Word, My Computer, Webshots etc etc - either alone or all together.

You may need to try a different keyboard, they do wire them different

"....they do wire them different"

No - it's all done in software.
