Windows / Explorer question

When logging in to my webmail account, windows or explorer (i'm not sure which one performs the action) seems to remember what has been typed into certain boxes when I have been previously logged in. For example, If I key in the first 2 letters of my e-mail address a box appears with my full address in it, all I have to do is click on it and it saves me typing the full address. I presume this is a normal function? But my question is, can this feature be turned off?

In Internet Explorer, Tools > Internet Options, Content tab, AutoComplete button.

I thought it would be something simple. Thanks for taking the time to explain.
