Windows Explorer Issue, .Exe Icons Loading Slowly

Hello,
My computer has a processor speed of 1.8 Ghz, 1 Gig of RAM and 100 Gig hard dirve (aith about half of that free).

Lately, when I open a folder in Windows Explorer, the .non .exe icons load from generic to their file association icons immediately, including large files like .mov files. But the .exe icons take a long time to load. one after another, from their generic icons to their file association icons.

I defragged last week, ran chkdsk today, and even changed my Icon Cashe in the Registry Editor from 2000 to 4096 and later to 8000.

Can anyone tell me what's going on?
