Windows Explorer grabbing all CPU cycles

Athlon 64 Windows XP Pro SP2 1Gb RAM 160Gb HDD

Windows Explorer has started to exhibit a strange behavior. If I right-click on a Folder or File the PC freezes for about 30 seconds. After the 30 secs the right-click menu opens. If I now select an option from the menu the PC freezes again for about 30 seconds. The PC then returns to normal operation.

If I monitor the PC operations I see that Explorer grabs 100% of the CPU processing power when I right-click or click on a right-click menu option.

What I have tried:
Have tried all the usual - Disk Cleanup, Defrag, Chkdsk.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks VoG for the link.

I don't have DivX installed. However, I found another link click here on that site which I think is pointing me in the right direction. I have a number of programs that use a context menu handler. I will disable all of these and then enable them one-at-time and hope I will find the offender.
