Windows Explorer error Oxc0000005

When i open programe files C drive, i get encountered a problem needs to close, exception info Ocx0000005 when i click OK, it closes and takes me back to the desktop. this also happens when i load a CD or DVD.

At a guess i would say you have a corrupted file within one of your programs.

Try running the system file checker to rule out a windows problem.

Start/run and type sfc /scannow and enter.

Understanding sfc click here

If this proves all clear,try reducing the startup programs,it may be one of your programs is corrupted and running from startup.

Start/run and type MSCONFIG and select startup,now untick everything except your AV and firewall,leave any realtime antispyware scanner ticked and ok and reboot.

Now try again.

I doubt these will work as i think its one of the programs that have become corrupted,and untill you try to run that program that maybe wont know.
