Windows Explorer display settings

Running Win XP Home.

Every time I re-open Windows Explorer, I have to drill down several levels to achieve my 'Data' directory on a second drive.

It would be so nice to save that level of drill down when I close Win Exp so that the next time I open it, it is at the correct (for me) level.

There was a thread about this some time back which relied on TweakUI - but this appeared to be not for XP.

So, I suppose, a registry edit? And what edit?

Any thoughts, folks?

Chris

Assuming your second drive has the drive letter D. Right click on the Windows Explorer icon on your desktop, choose Properties, choose "Shortcut" tab and in the Target field enter:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n,/e,D:\Data

Click Apply and OK to exit. Windows Explorer should now open with the Data folder open, Chris the Ancient
