windows explorer

when I have windows explorer open the "drives" alternate between an icon and folder symbol - "flash" - this is more irritating than anything else. However if it progresses to be a problem can I repair it-or can I uninstall it in isolation. Not sure whether it is part of XP or office XP - suspect its XP and if so can I repair it using the installation disc? and if so how?

Try a system file check. Start/Run/type sfc /scannow (watch the space between sfc and /) You will need your XP CD

Personally, I don't use Windows Explorer anymore.

I much prefer PowerDesk which can be downloaded from the PCA Download site.
