Windows does not recognise my camera

  thospot 22:51 25 Oct 06

Could someone please tell me why suddenly Windows does not recognise my (USB Device), my FinePix S9500 camera when I am trying to download the images on the camera to the computer.

I had no bother with it a couple of weeks ago..

Using a Card Reader is usually preferable to using the camera.

Or you could try it in a different USB port.

Thanks for your quick replies...

I have tried it in several USB ports but no good.
Thanks for the advice Vangeliska. I will have to buy one....

Why?? You have done nothing wrong, Mocrosoft have probably decided not to recognise your camera, I know not why! Same thing happened to us in March with our Optio 33L, now instead of a simple download we have to go round the houses to get success. Lots of other queries about stuff like this in the past. Have you tried the Search facility Re: "cameras not recognised" and/or "USB device not recognies/faults" or similar threads?

Hope you have better luck than we had..

Will have a go at the Search facility right now. Thanks clock.....

Me again - or ... you could try a System Restore to an earlier date when it did work.

If you have an MP3 player it can substitute as a memory card reader/writer (at least will do as it has a Secure Digital slot!)

..should read "at least mine will do as it has a Secure Digital slot!)

I have tried System Restore but to no avail.

I haven't got an MP3player so can't try it....

I will have to got to bed now so will look in the morning for any more replies..

Thanks for all your help so far..
