How can I disable or uninstall this program?
I have looked in the obvious places but can't find a way to do it.

Its part of the MSN toolbar you will need to uninstall the MSN toolbar completely.

No you can change the setting of the MSN toolbar so that it does not load up this function.

Open up IE then on the MSN toolbar press the options button (looks like a pair of pliers and a screwdriver)

Now choose the desktop search from the left hand pane and take the tick out of automatically run when windows starts and then choose the custom folders from the what do you want to index box then browse and take a tick out of everything that is ticked. It now will not run at windows startup or try and index anything.

Thank you both.I have followed your suggestion,Skills, and will see what happens when I boot up.It was stopping my computer from closing down properly and taking forever to index when I booted up.perhaps it was my settings, but I don't really have a need for such a programme(I think).
