Windows - Delayed Write Failed

I repeatedly get the message:

Windows - Delayed Write Failed.
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\pkfsf.sys:KAVICHS. The error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

I believe the file may belong to my Prevx security program, but I can't find it, so how can I save it?

Do you have a Kapersky product installed?

  Rogerbee 21:03 19 Dec 05

Yes, I have Kaspersky. Also ZoneAlarm. I think I see where this is heading...

There may be a conflict - which Kaspersy product do you have?

  Rogerbee 21:25 19 Dec 05

Thanks for your interest woodchip. Will try scandisk - crossed fingers, because I can no longer defrag, although I only ever log in as Administrator.

Thanks also, VoG. My version is Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 5.0.326.

woodchip

Nope. As I already knew, trying Error Checking only got me a message that I didn't have sufficient rights to do that!

Do it in Safe Mode F5 when you are starting computer

  Rogerbee 21:01 20 Dec 05

OK, I've "Checked for Errors" in safe mode - took all night. Still getting Delayed Write message. Would now Defrag in safe mode too, but unlikely to affect main problem.

  woodchip 21:27 20 Dec 05

Is it a Maxtor drive

  Rogerbee 22:49 20 Dec 05

VoG and woodchip.

I think I may have solved my problem!

I REMOVED Prevx. After reboot, I've not yet seen the error message (fingers crossed), and I have Administrator rights again!

Many thanks for your support.
