Windows - Delayed write failed???

  Cloggsy 16:06 05 Feb 04

Hello all,

I've just re-installed my old hard drive onto my computer (after installing a new 80Gb drive @ christmas.) I wanted to run them both together...

Anyway, I have my new HDD (containing OS etc etc) as my master on IDE1 and the slave is my DVD Rom drive... On IDE2 Primary is my CD-RW drive, with the old HDD as slave.

I tried to transfer some data (in windows explorer) from 1 HDD to the other and I had a little pop-up from WinXP Pro advising me that the Delayed write has failed... What the hell does that mean? D'Oh!

Any help will be greatly received ;o)

Note: I did try running them as Master & slave on IDE1 & this same error message appeared - thought it was because there was 'too much going on, on 1 IDE channel for the PC to handle!!

The Tech Stuff: PIII 750Mhz, 512Mb RAM, OS - Win XP Pro... If you need to know more... 'just ask' ;o)
