I received an email from PC security adviser - went straight to Microsoft site - ran the update check. 7 updates needed even though the automatic updater is active. The updates downloaded but then came up with message 'cannot be installed' The updates are: Microsoft Windows XP Security Update for Windows XP (KB960225) Security Update for Windows XP (KB938464) Security Update for Windows XP (KB958690) Update for Windows XP (KB959772) Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - March 2009 (KB890830)Microsoft Office 2007 Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB962871) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3 (KB955706)
Should I be worried? If so, advice as to why they won't download please - I had everything else closed if that makes a difference.
I am running on Windows XP home edition V2002 Service pack 3.
i hope i am wrong here, but im sure i read somewhere that the "conflicker worm" disables automatic updates (amongest other things),im not sure if this has anything to do with your problem, just mearly pointing out what i read,im sure one the the more knowledgable people will be along to offer some help soon
