Windows Check Disk

Every time I start up Windows (XP) runs check disk. If I try & run Disk Defragment Windows says the "Chkdsk is scheduled to run" & it won't start disc defragment. Even when I run check disc it still won't let me run disc defragment. Is there any way of stopping Windows running check disc at startup?

That works thanks!

Still won't let me run disk defragment though.

Says that chkdsk is scheduled to run.

Are you logged on as the Administrator?

You could try the Command line approach. Key in Defragmenter into Help and Support and follow the guidance from Using Disk Defragmenter.

I'm logged on as the administrator.

Tried the command line prompt & it still won't work.
