Im having trouble installing my soundblaster Live card. When i tried installing the drivers in win98 the screen locks up on boot up but when i take them off it seems ok. I think it may be conflicting with my network card as i got an error when i installed the network card second but It was a BSOD i got not a freeze at startup. Can anyone help please, any ideas.

Boot from cold, and press F8 on boot up. When the menu appears, select start in safe mode.

Once on the desktop, select device manager and see if it is showing any conflicts (yellow exclamation marks).

If so, try re-installing the drivers in safe mode, and then attempt a re-boot normally.

Sound cards (like modems) can be difficult to install, so you could try a different slot, if the above does not help.
