Windows SE 4.10.2222A
Camera - Canon Powershot A30
Scanner - Canon D1250U2

After 2 yrs of problem free use suddenly cannot use scanner or download photos from camera.

Message comes up when attempting connection; "Cannot communicate with scanner(camera). Cable may be disconnected. Check status. Scanner(camera) driver will be closed.

Äll checks shows everything OK: scanner(camera) shows up as connected when linked via USB cable. Swopping cables/ports makes no difference. All known drivers present. Re-installing scanner and camera software and Windows makes no difference.

PLEASE, can anybody help ?

Hi aleuta. Have you tried any other USB devices with your computer? Have you tried different USB ports, and are the USB ports you are using directly on the motherboard or on an extension bracket? If they are on an extension bracket or the front panel, then you may just have a socket loose on the motherboard. Otherwise you may have a problem with the motherboard USB driver chip. Another possibility is that you have fitted another USB device that is overloading the USB chips ability to supply power.
