Windows 98 to XP Home - Upgrade

  thedarkside 11:52 29 Mar 05

Am I right in thinking that when you upgrade from Windows 98 to XP Home using the 'Upgrade Disc' as opposed to the full version of XP, all your applications, files and data remain intact and are not destroyed or overwritten duting the upgrade?

The PC in question runs Win 98, and has the data and the OS on the same partition.

Thanks for any help in advance.

As far as I am aware, that is correct

Yes, it clears out the 98 files, but leaves the programs and stuff to my knowledge.

Still, make a backup of files.
