Windows 98 won't boot up

Having a problem booting my PC as after everything is loaded in I then just get a black screen and blinking cursor. I am able to get to safe mode but am not sure what I can do there to overcome my problem.

I have 2 hard drives and am able to boot to the other drive as it contains all my old files/OS from when I copied them across to the new larger drive. However if I boot to this then everything, Outlook Express etc, is set to the last time it was used in Nov 02 even if I run it from the problem C drive.

Have a look in System Properties and check for conflicts.
