Windows 98 Turbo button

I am renovating an old PC. At the side of the Power button is one named Turbo, with its own light. The light is on whether the button is in or out. Any previous knowledge, please?

its broke?

I asked for that! :-)

What does it do?

It's now defunct. It enabled users to run older programs on faster machines...a bit like an antiquated "compatability mode" really. As I say, nowadays programmers are far more sophisticated (honest) and it's no longer needed, so it won't work.

It's a OLD AT system feature, not of any use today

Thanks all, the mystery is solved.
