If I have a working install of Windows 98 and install 98SE without deleting the registry files/Windows and Program Files folders, will it upgrade the original `98, or overwrite it? The 98SE install is from standard Windows 98SE CD, not an upgrade. This may be as clear as day, but I'd still like some feedback.

It'll upgrade it.

Thanks DieSse.

Don't forget the "Unofficial" Windows 98SE Service Pack which was last updated (for the final time) recently - it includes all updates, patches etc. See:

Any one who installed an earlier edition of the unofficial service pack should download the lastest version as well.

The PC is just a machine donated to me for spares, too old to be useful as a system but with a reasonably recent 10gb hard-drive that could be used as a file server. I just need 98SE's better USB capabilities.

click here may be of interest. I think the same applies going from 98 to 98SE.
