How can i restore Windows 98 without losing my documents?

If you want to make a fresh installation, I think you can get away with just deleting the Windows folder and then reinstalling. My favourite, though, would be to fit a new hard drive as Master, install Windows on that and use your old drive a Slave. That way there is almost no risk of losing anything.

You can over install. Just run setup and make sure you use the same Windows folder. this will repair any faulty files though you may need to reinstall a few updates.

Hi Insomnia. What is the best way to restore Windows 98 depends on why you need to restore it. Can you tell us more about your computer and what is wrong with your present installation.
