Windows 98 power management

I use win 98 on a Gateway desk top. In my power management, the sleep/hibernation function has suddenly disapppeared having been in use for several years! Selection is no longer an option in control panel/power management.

While not vital, its loss is inconvenient. Any ideas on how it can be restored?

thanks! armed with that , I have fixed the problem - by reinstalling driver.

In doing so, I see that I have a conflict warning (under device manager/system) against "system board extension for PnP BIOS"

While my system is working just fine, I am reluctant to do anything; however, what do you recommend,if anything?

tahnks again!
