windows 98 disc

My wife has an old dell inspiron laptop that has windows 98 but is not running properly after installing mcafee anti virus. I want to buy a disc and reinstall but do I go for an oem or full version disk? or maybe I could try linux and see how I get on with that!I would be very grateful for any advice.

You may struggle to find a win 98 disc for sale. but if you can, get the oem. You won't get any support or documentation with it, but as the os is no longer supported by m/soft you would be paying for some thing that you would not receive. Any problems you encounter should be answered here or by a google search.
