I am wishing to remove all Windows 95, and to Install Windows 98, on loading the Windows 98 disc will this remove all Windows 95 so leaving the hard disc cleared right out, and just Windows 98 installed in other words a fresh start?

No.

Use Format to clear disk or FDISK then FORMAT

However before you start acquire a win98 start up floppy so that you can start your pc with CDrom support to install win98.

I did the same thing recently on my old machine, but I didnt need a boot floppy. I just set the bios to boot from the cd drive and it ran fine. You will need to boot to dos to do the format, just do it from the start menu. You probably know all this but its fresh in my mind! Remember you will need all the old drivers, obviously the machine is a few years old so make sure you have them before you start!
