Windows 95 keeps restarting

I have an old machine (obviously, since it's W95)which starts OK but only in Safe Mode. When I restart after this, it gets up to the Windows 95 screen (with the clouds) and then goes to a blank screen with the monitor going into standby.

Perhaps I could load W95 on top of what's already there but I don't want to risk losing any of tha data or network settings.

Any ideas please?

If I load W95 on top, will all the data still be there afterwards?

Yes, but you may need to load the drivers as well so make sure you've got all the disks and CDs before you start.

It sounds a bit like a dodgy graphics driver. In safe mode go to device manager, select update driver and select standard VGA driver and reboot. Then you can sort out what the correct driver should be.

You're right Micro-Man. I just removed the graphics card, used the onboard graphics, and all was well.
