windows 8.1 upgrade - problem with Chrome

  Liz Galloway 15:00 21 Jan 14

Hi recently updated to windows 8.1 and since then I have found that google chrome continually gives the message that it did not shut down correctly on last useage. Tried un-installing chrome and re-installed but still having the same issue. Tried using it on the desktop or in Windows 8 but did not make any difference. Can anyone advise please.

Do you use Ccleaner by any chance? If you haven't upgraded to the latest version of Ccleaner (4.09) and use Ccleaner to clear out various Chrome history you will find that Ccleaner corrupts Chrome's files.

If that is the case, unless you can roll your system back to a point before Chrome was updated to V32 (around week ago) OR roll the system back to before Ccleaner was ever run after Chrome V32 installed itself and then install the latest Ccleaner, I suggest that you uninstall Chrome, update to the latest Ccleaner and re-install Chrome.
