I have been trying to upgrade my Vista Home Premium to W7HP but it has failed. The first install displayed an error message at some point & so it rolled back to Vista. On the second attempt there was a blue screen stating that there had been problems & to check for viruses, run a chk disk etc. etc..

I rebooted the PC & for a moment it began with the W7 welcome logo but then reverted to the afore mentioned blue screen of (almost) death. Subsequent reboots had the same results so I've rolled back to Vista again.

The W7 Upgrade Advisor said that my PC was compatible & I turned off the security software as well as updating the W7 installation process online.

Any ideas?
