Windows 7 upgrade problem help!

Hi, new here,

I recently bought a new Acer laptop with Vista and have just received the upgrade discs for W7. My problem is, the upgrade wizard wants to delete 'Intel (R) PROset/wireless WiFi Software' and 'Acer eRecovery Management v3 0.3014' - as it says the software is incompatible with windows 7.

What do I need to do as I don't want to delete the WiFi software surely?

Any help appreciated.

Your new Windows 7 will have the needed WiFi software, and the Acer Recovery management will not be needed

Oh will it? Ok, so I'm safe to go ahead with the download and it won't affect wifi connection after the install is completed? Thanks

Please can someone help - I've let the upgrade delete the wifi software and now it's currently in the process of doing the upgrade.

It's now been on for about 3 hours and only at 19% - shall I cancel it and start again?

I'm wondering if I should do a clean install instead as the only stuff it has on it is the software it came with and some emails as I've purposely not put anything on it as I knew I'd be upgrading it all!
