Is it possible to make the 'All Programs' the dfault pane rather than the recent programs ?

Could do through regedit I suppose. Though why you would want to change the basics of your OS is a puzzle.

And here is me thinking it's Windows 7 Start Menu not Vista.
Miké, be careful of advice pertaining to Vista.
Some Vista drivers will work for W7 but the bare bones are different to a high degree.
A lot of Visa fixes will damage W7.

When clicked Win 7 Start displays,on the left, a white pane with recently opened programs on it (or not if you chose that option),at the bottom of the pane is a selectable option for 'All Programs'. Naturally enough when clicked all available programs are displayed (ie as per XP). Now, I would like to go directly to 'All Programs' from the Start click,(perhaps selecting the white pane - recent programs as the 2nd choice click.

You'll need to modify the registry.
