windows 7 and office 2000

I have a full retail copy of Office 2000 and am considering buying a new laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium. Will Office 2000 work on this, or do I need to think about Open Office?

I'm running Office 2000 on Win 7. Ultimate 32bit. Not a single problem.

I got mine working on a new laptop, and upgrade W7 desktop.

It was a bit of a faff and Googling, and I am not sure Outlook was ever really working. Address book probs and would only handle 1 IMAP account.

Then after a clean install and reinstall, I had further problems (double click xls or doc file gave error) but File/open was fine.

I gave up in the end and switched to OpenOffice and Thunderbird.

Also I was worried that updates are no longer available to patch security holes.
I tried Office2010 Trial and hated it.

Hmmm..nice link.

I don't have the SPs. Might try and find them because I do miss Outlook's Drag and Drop which Thunderbird does not have.
