Windows 7 Incredimail email client woes

  tobyjug2007 12:59 15 Jul 10

I have upgraded from XP to windows 7, everything seems fine except my preferred email client (incredimail 2 ). I am getting spammed, up to 50 emails every day mostly the viagra crap from i presume the US. I dont wish to pay £40 to Incredimail for their junk mail extra if it doesn't get rid of this annoying to say yhe least viagra crap. Ive scanned it for viruses, and malware, i am at my wits end, any ideas guys?

I'm using Kaspersky internet security 2010. It includes a spam filter and seems to work very well. As far as I'm aware most security programmes contain such a filter.

I use the free version of Incredimail with Windows7 and never get any Spam e-mails.
I can only assume that you have some sort of Virus.
Have you tried running Malwarebytes free version to see if that finds any problems.
I must admit I updated incredimail this morning and my Emisoft Anti-Malware program jumped in and stopped one of the programs being installed.
It showed it as a Trojan and denied it access.
Incredimail is still working Ok without it.
So maybe there are problems with the new Updated Version.

Just checked again and this is the Trojan that Emisoft found.

Now that was downloaded with the new Incredimail update this morning.
Whether it is a real trojan or a false positive I know not.
Maybe someone else using Incredimail would be able let us know if their security also picks this problem up.

Maybe not the same.
This is what is found.

Whether it is different or not I am not sure.
