I am a little confused with the versions of W7,
it seems to me that only Professional and ultimate have the facility to use XP programs that will not run on W7, or am I reding it wrong.
Also does anyone know when PC (desktop) suppliers will be selling PC`s with W7 installed instead of going through the voucher upgrade from Vista.
I know of a couple of people who want to wait until W7 is installed at purchase.

Hi there are the Home Premium, Pro and Ultimate versions. Only the Pro and Ultimate have XP Mode. You should still be able to run XP apps in windows 7 Home Premium. XP Mode is really only for bussiness apps. PC makers will start selling Windows 7 PCs on October the 22nd 2009

Have a look here click here

It should help

Ive just upgraded to 7 Ultimate and it took 2 hours to do so and I had to remove some programs before it would load

I can`t imagine that stores like PC World opening all their stock PC`s and installing W7 and checking operability by 22nd Oct.
