Windows 2000 Pro - Toolbar icon placement

  toubab 17:50 12 Oct 04

Recently and for no apparent reason, the shortcut icons .. which should be on the left hand side of my toolbar next to the Start button .. have shifted over to nestle against the icons which are on the right next to the clock.

The "open program rectangles" now being between them and the Start button.

How can I get these pesky icons to return to where they should be please ?

Right click the taskbar and untick Lock the Taskbar.

You should now be able to click on the QuickLaunch toolbar and, holding down the mouse button, drag it back to the left.

Then lock the taskbar.

.. there is no option, on right-clicking the Taskbar ( got the right name now !! ) to unlock it ?

Had the same problem. I re-sized /doubled the task bar HEIGHT by hovering the cursor at the top of the original taskbar. Dragged the icons to the left and re-sized to the original height.
