I need help with this one.
A friend has given me his computer to have a look at, it runs Windows 2000 pro with service pack 3.
When you switch it on it gets to loading windows then reboots.
I have got into safe mode and done a virus scan and it shows
Partition table (MBR) read error
Boot sector of disk read error

Also there is a trojan on it ( Small.54Z) which AVG has deleted.

Any help appreciated.

Specs
Amd 750 Mhz processor
10gb Maxtor hard drive
The memory is a strange reading 589,296Kb
