Windows 2000 and Printer Sharing

  Sebby 17:40 28 Feb 03

I have a computer with Windows 2000 Professional installed, that has a shared EPSON printer installed. I then have 3 XP clients and 1 Win 98 SE.

The Windows 2000 logon causes problems because obviously you cannot print to the shared printer unless you are logged on to the client under the same username and password.

Is there any way around this (except changing operating system ;-))?

Many thanks.

Excellent, thanks very much.

I'll give it a go...

I've just tried this and at first it didn't work. I added all the users on the network onto the 2000 box and then under 'Security' in printer options added each one of these.

As this didn't work, I removed them all and added "NETWORK" instead, which has worked for my 3 XP clients, but the Win 98 SE machine obviously can't use the printer. What should I do?
