Windows 2000 Hangs at the Logon Window

  Snakey 21:11 04 Jun 03

I have been successfully running Windows 2000 Prof. on one of my home networked PCs. Now when I switch on the Sytem seems to hang on the Log on Screen and will not allow me to type my password even though the Ther is a flashing cusor in the password Window.

This happened when I plugged in a USB Drive Stick whilst the PC was booting.

I have run the repair option from Win2000 CD.

I have disabled the USB option in the BIOS.

I have unplugged all peripherals except Keyboard, Mains and Graphics.

After leaving the system in this state for a while the Windows2000 Screen Saver activates but still the system will not respond to any Keyboard/Mouse activity.

Keyboard and mouse tested okay on other system.

I really do not want to reformat.

Help Please

Is your keyboard and mouse wireless?

Did you install the correct drivers if so?
