but only supported up to USB 1.1 speed on 98 unless there is a patch I don't know of

This is what I thought that it might run at 1.1.
But can't be sureas all the last lot of pc's for the last year or so have been XP.

Doesn't look like it, Microsoft will not be supporting usb2 on win9x and nt4 click here

  Patr100 12:28 09 Feb 03

The install software provided with the PCI card should provide 98se support via the PCI card manufacturer not Microsoft.

Patr100 - thank-you. I will let you all know when it is built how i get on with it.

thanks.

  Pauper 12:44 09 Feb 03

Patr100 is correct, if I had thought for a minute I would have remembered that I have a usb2 pci card sitting here waiting to be installed and it does state in the instructions that it will work under win98se, me, 2000 and xp - it's by Asus. Apologies for being misleading.

AMD 4 ever, Win98se will support USB2 at the correct speed via a PCI card, But not from the connectors on the M/Board.

I have USB2 printer and scanner working at the correct setting through a Belkin 4 port PCI card.

This was done after contacting flecc and seeking his advice. Regards. J.
