Is there a way to remove the 'Log off xxxxx' in the Start menu in Windows 98? All I want is the 'Shutdown' task.

Have a look here:

Remove Log Off from the Start Menu........

Dont forget to backup the registry before taking any action.

Hope this helps.

have you tried going to start point to settings and down to taskbar and menu in there there is a list you will find an option which shows the logg off menu untick and it will remove it from the start menu

scooby43, tried that but even under the 'Advanced' settings there's nothing to remove the 'Log Off' option.

bowman, thanks! That did the trick!

Cheers all. :-o)
